I finally caved and will be starting on an Rx depression med tomorrow. So wish me luck. The past three months have been a real roller coaster ride, only not in the enjoyable sense.

thessalonians tells us to keep admonishing one as a 'brother' and jesus christ himself said to love your enemies.

This "choice" (if you call it that), and the it's-a-life-or-death-matter importance of making the right one, is what is put in front of JWs and continuously reinforced, to where it has become one of the defining means by which individual JWs gauge their strength in the faith (and by implication, their likelihood of surviving armageddon).
JWism: Go to meetings, go out in field service, shun the GODDAM traitors, don't breathe a single word that would indicate doubt, and you're good - you won't die.

there have been similar headlines on usa today and the drudgereport.. they need ww3 and they need it now.. the israelis understand what will likely happen if peace with iran breaks out.
there will be a movement towards eliminating all nuclear weapons in the middle east and the intensification of declaring 'apartheid' as regards the palestinians.. in other words, the practical end of israel as a zionist state.. in addition, there are senators who lust for war (lindsay graham, etc) they realize that the fog of war would move the us towards becoming a full police state, eliminating what's left of the bill of rights and distracting the whole nation from its failing economy.. i think it's too late for a phony false flag attack - to blame iran for some made-up terrorist attack.

Rebel8, I've never heard of that movie. Rickey Gervais is one of the funniest people on the planet though. I may watch it if it's available on netflix or amazon video.
Comatose, I'm doing both. And calling these hotline numbers every day. And posting stuff here. And talking with friends, family, and coworkers. It seems that since I broke up with my girlfriend every day has become a mighty struggle to find a reason to go on. Especially on the weekends....the loneliness and isolation. Really gets me down.

I don't know how people cope with uncertainty and death. We all want our own life to be a rich and meaningful experience. But what if it's not? What if there's really not much good happening in your life, and there's little reason to expect this to change?
My parents will likely only be around another five to ten years. I don't know how I'm going to cope with their passing. I think it is going to freak me right the F out. Like bad.
Life is full of pain and loss. And it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot happening other than that. I'm really on the edge today. I don't have a PLAN per se. I just wish it wasn't so difficult. I wish that there was an easy way to opt out. Why live when you know you will die? Why wait around for that to happen in some horrible way?
All I have to look forward to is increasing loneliness and isolation.
on an earlier thread i made the statement that, "an evangelical christian government would look a lot like the taliban".. laika asked me incredulously, "do you really think your friends from your old church would govern like the taliban!?".
i thought it was a really interesting question and might work as a separate thread.. the people i worshipped with were mostly a nice bunch of people, but the thought of them having secular power would make me shudder.. christianity is mostly harmless because it lacks power.
christian politicians are restrained by secular laws and constitutions.
smh. Is it time to get outta dodge?
